Rhythms
of the day

Designed by Alison Brookes Architects, Cadence is a residential development at the north edge of the King's Cross site. Taking advantage of the King's Cross light tunnel, which connects the Underground station with King's Boulevard, a stunning installation could speak directly to the theme of Cadence: 'alive with rhythm'.

Campaign proposal

The light wall would be timed to play a certain combination of colour harmonies, based on the sky at that time of day. The morning, for example, would see deep blues turn into purples and pinks, into yellow and orange as the sun rises. The pace at which the colour harmonies change could be determined by the busyness of the station at that time. The morning commute, for example, would see a more rapid change compared to the middle of the day.
